Having read several other books on Greek vase paintings, I was a little hesitant to buy another; but this quarto edition published by the Getty contains such large and stunning photographs that my fears were wasted.
The text explains the subjects depicted in detail, though it mostly ignores the technicalities and history of pot painting/5(22). The book is divided into 10 chapters, the first chapter is devoted to a history of Greek vases and is more than one third of the book.
